In 1994, an organizing committee comprised of faculty, employees and students of the Department of Production Engineering at UNESP (São Paulo State University) – Bauru Campus, held the 1st SIMPEP – Production Engineering Symposium. The Event has improved continuously, becoming one of the most important congresses for Production Engineering in Brazil due to the quality of its referees, the speakers and the scientific expression of the works presented.
The SIMPEP scientific committee is comprised only of PhD professors and researchers in Production Engineering who belong to the universities from the different states of Brazil.
Although it is not an itinerant event, since it is always held at the UNESP College of Engineering, Bauru Campus, the studies sent and the registrations at SIMPEP characterize the Symposium’s national scope. Since 2010, with the illustrious participation of international speakers from Sweden, Spain and Portugal, SIMPEP has also become an international event, stimulating advances in scientific empowerment through conferences, round tables with proposals of current themes for discussions and the disclosure of research results related to the different thematic areas of the Symposium: Production Management; Quality Management; Economic Management; Ergonomics and Occupational Safety; Product Management; Operational Research; Strategic and Organizational Management; Management of Organizational Knowledge; Environmental Management; Education in Production Engineering; Production Engineering; Sustainability and Social Responsibility.
.
Every year, the Symposium gathers nearly 450 participants from every state of Brazil over the three-day event, with an average of 700 studies registered by the Symposium, and the challenge of proposals for discussing high-level and current themes in the Production Engineering area.
